This research explores assertive speech acts in "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power," analyzing how characters communicate within the narrative. The study categorizes these acts, with "Notifying" and "Informing" being the most prevalent, showcasing their significance in conveying vital information and advancing the storyline. Additionally, less frequent acts like "Accusing" serve to punctuate pivotal moments, enhancing narrative depth and tension. Beyond classification, the research contextualizes these speech acts within the story, revealing complex character dynamics and motivations. Overall, this study underscores the integral role of assertive speech acts in shaping both language and narrative in the movie series.
